A little note for you…
If you’re here for your child/ren…you may feel that they need a little boost with their learning, and that you want them to develop a love for it. You might think that tutoring is a good idea, but that they’re going to hate having that extra “schooling” to do each week. Well, you are a totally normal, healthy, loving parent, and just the type of carer that could benefit from what we do. You might feel that you’d love this nurturing, creative space to support your child’s cognitive development, but that it is out of reach for you financially. Well, that’s not necessarily the case – we have options to help open our services to all families, no matter their background or financial situation.
Or perhaps your child has received a diagnosis, and you are overwhelmed, unsure as to how you can best support them on their educational journey. You want their school experiences to be positive and uplifting, but you don’t know how the systems work, and what is and is not possible within the classroom. Well, we have first hand experience with both the system and just about any diagnosis that you might be faced with. We understand the pressures of classrooms, and what feels to classroom teachers like support and what feels like overstepping. We know how to talk “teacher talk” and open up communications for the best outcomes for your child.
But if you’re here for you...there you are! You probably don’t even know yourself. You’ve been hidden under layers and layers of protection that helped you survive all kinds of wounding. But if you’re here, you probably don’t need those layers anymore. I think you’re ready to excavate that gorgeous, perfectly flawed, raw beauty that lies at the base of all humans – that “thing” that we are all born with, but unique to each of us.
Peeling back the layers is hard, and often painful, but it is a pain that is birthing something invaluable and life-changing; life-affirming. This hard thing is easier than staying with the pain, the physical ailments, the bouts of depression. Perhaps you are doing all sorts of things to take yourself away from the pain…alcohol and drugs, online shopping, gambling, gaming, work…any kind of excessive behaviour is borne from a need to escape something.
Maybe you have already started your process on your own, and maybe you are at the very beginning. Whatever the case, it’s a step towards self love and compassion, and it’s exactly where you need to be.
You are not alone, and you can do hard things.
