With extensive experience in parenting, teaching, behaviour challenges and the public education system, we bring our expertise and nurturing, holistic approach to support families with a diverse range of needs. Whether this be around behaviours, support after a diagnosis of a disability or situation that might impact learning, general learning needs or family dynamics in general, we can help you with your next steps. Consultations can occur as a one-off appointment, or, where appropriate, support can be ongoing.

Education

• Helping you understand your options regarding your child’s education;
• Support with understanding support plans for behaviour and learning;
• Liaison with classroom teachers for realistic strategies that can be easily implemented in the classroom;
• Where applicable and appropriate, supporting teachers with the administrative tasks of plans and learning adjustments.

Behaviour

Challenging and/or concerning behaviours can be exhausting and place a great deal of stress on family dynamics. Coming from a holistic and nurturing perspective, but bringing a deep understanding of presenting behaviours in children and adolescents, we can support you in navigating and understanding these behaviours, both in the home and in the school. Please note that this is not a mental health service, even though it will certainly contribute to yours! We do not take on the role of psychologist – just behaviour support, understanding and advice.

Tutoring and Homeschooling

With our extensive teaching experience, Learn by Heart can create tutoring and homeschooling programs to develop identified areas of need in your child’s learning. Tutoring programs can be in our nurturing, homeschool style setting, online, or in your home, depending on your needs, and we can support NSW and interstate equivalent English and Mathematics, with other subjects being added as more skilled teachers with shared visions are established. Learning is developed through a child centred approach, meaning that we spend some time with the student to determine their learning style and strengths, and cater lessons to suit.

1:1 Tailored tutoring sessions – $75 for 45 minute session (plus mileage where lessons are in your home)

Tailored small group sessions (max. 4 students at similar achievement levels) – $55 per student for 45 minute sessions

Homeschool tutoring – 2 hour session for weekly lessons and explicit teaching (held during regular school hours only), $90 per week.

We also reserve weekly appointments and homework sessions for students from families who may be facing financial difficulty. Please reach out for more information about how to access these sessions.
